I hear you....but most are not of a mindset to "prove all things" if this is one of them. That is why it really seems they prefer to be ignorant, and cling to the opinion they already have.
I’m not so certain. I like to give folks the benefit of the doubt and assume they really believe that they are defending righteousness, as they have been taught. They are doing right as they believe.

Are we getting lost in translation? My reading of scripture says, "Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor." Others will say "Don't lie".
Is that the same thing? Dare we parse this commandment from God and look contextually at this...
Because moral virtues have to be hierarhical because what if you finish in situation where you have to choose between virtues.
