When Must We Kill Them?

Edit 04/18/2025: Well didn’t that get quite a reception! The response has been far greater than I anticipated; I was certainly impressed by the inventiveness and facility of my interlocutors with slurs. I wish to make a few points clear. Violence is a last resort, not a first resort. It must come after the exhaustion of all possible remedy. It is not, moreover, appropriate for decisions which are merely unwise or disastrous. It is to be employed only in defense of our Constitution, and of democracy. If it is resorted to, it must be narrowly targeted, and aimed only at extirpating those who have power, and are unjustly resisting giving it up.

Evil has come to America. The present administration is engaged in barbarism; it has arbitrarily imprisoned its opponents, revoked the visas of thousands of students, imposed taxes upon us without our consent, and seeks to destroy the institutions which oppose it. Its leader has threatened those who produce unfavorable coverage, and suggested that their licenses be revoked. It has deprived us, in many cases, of trial by jury; it has subjected us to a jurisdiction foreign to our constitution, and has transported us beyond seas to be imprisoned for pretended offenses. It has scorned the orders of our courts, and threatens to alter fundamentally our form of government. It has pardoned its thugs, and extorted the lawyers who defended its opponents.

If these actions become normal, the government could arrest anyone and deport them to prison in a foreign land, without hope of redress, for no reason. It is nothing less than the total abdication of rule of law in this country. There is no guard or protection against it. If this theory prevails, then it is the end of America as a free nation.

I do not wish for this essay to be a mere catalogue of outrages. The conduct of the present administration is as well known to you as it is to myself, and can be understood by any sensible person. On it, no further comment is ventured.

What remains for us to decide is when we fight. If the present administration wills it, it could sweep away the courts, it could sweep away democracy, and it could sweep away freedom. Protest is useful only insofar as it can effect action. Our words might sway the hearts of men, but not of beasts.

If the present administration chooses this course, then the questions of the day can be settled not with legislation, but with blood and iron. In short, we must decide when we must kill them. None of us wish for war, but if the present administration wishes to destroy the nation I would accept war rather than see it perish. I hope that you would choose the same.

But what to do? The rot of the present administration runs deeper than one man. The sacrifice of a hero is insufficient to save our nation, and a gust of wind on a summer day would not have saved us. For let us make no mistake; the problem is not one man, but a whole class of people. If one head is cut off, another would take its place.

Violence only makes sense as part of coordinated strategy. This is why protests are important – not as a way of changing the present administration’s actions, but as a way to coordinate a group. There may come a time when we shall have no guarantee of freedom but the one which we make for ourselves. If it comes, I tell you that there is no greater honor than he who lays down his life for his friends. Until then, we must wait.

And when is that time? Your threshold may differ from mine, but you must have one. If the present administration should cancel elections; if it should engage in fraud in the electoral process; if it should suppress the speech of its opponents, and jail its political adversaries; if it ignores the will of Congress; if it should directly spurn the orders of the court; all these are reasons for revolution. It may be best to stave off, and wait for elections to throw out this scourge; but if it should threaten the ability to remove it, we shall have no choice. We will have to do the right thing. We will have to prepare ourselves to die. I hope that we should conduct ourselves with such courage that it will be our finest hour; I expect that we shall do our duty.

While we wait, we must not be like sheep to the slaughter. We cannot cooperate. We must hide those who are persecuted; we must foil the aims of their agents. The state and local governments which we control can litigate the actions of the present administration. Their police can refuse to share information or be deputized to do the work of the evil ones. If war is politics by other means, then politics is war by other means. There can be no surrender, for surrender means the oppression of all of us.

These are exceptional times! We have not faced such a threat in many years. I wish that it had not come. It is the sorrow of the world that these times have come, and it is we who shall have to bring woe unto those through whom it came.

The future is not certain. It may be that the present administration should flinch, and turn back in face of lighter action. I fondly hope that that may be the case. But if it comes, we must awaken from this ignorant dream. This evil will not pass without blood, sweat, toil, and tears. So harden your hearts, and be prepared to die.

The left is out for blood. The problem that they have yet to realize is that much of that blood will be theirs. o_O

I see it time and again in video on the web is the leftists attacking someone or something and then they get beaten or arrested and prosecuted and then they cry. Because it's unfair that their intended victims fought back.

I recall someone once saying that "Everyone is always all for war until war things start happening to them."

Russia comes to mind with that saying.

In any case we have come to that place where the left is arresting and jailing people who don't agree with them as we have seen in the USA, UK, France, Germany, and elsewhere. It follows that they are on a ladder of escalation and I would say that Nicholas Decker did a lot of people a favor by waking them up to the fact that a pivotal time is now upon us.

Nicholas said, "So harden your hearts, and be prepared to die."

I would say to Christians and conservatives to be prepared for what these maniacs are working up the nerve to do. Because obviously they intend to wage war against us.

And pray.

This may or may not be more than a bit self-serving. But it certainly piqued my interest. Hope it's even true:

I would love to believe it but it all looks like AI generated images to me...

I just listen to the narrator talking in such an emotive tone, clicking at a few random points, and it's the exact same voice and tone used in countless distorted or completely fabricated by AI "look how this lost kitten saved a family from drowning" sorts of clickbait videos. Ignore it, whatever it is saying won't be real.

Nowadays AI-generated stuff just means lazy writers and video producers. Eventually you won't be able to tell (and probably can't now in many cases.)

The only question I cared about was whether there was any truth in it. At worst, it probably beats CNN.

It's a half-hour long, and I couldn't stand that voice for half an hour to get a little story. What's the one-sentence summary of the story? You can probably find if there's any truth in it in a 2-minute Google search.

But have a look at the other videos on that channel and you'll soon see it's probably all fake, one person wouldn't know so many private conversations in detail.

Trump heard his son praying, and allegedly learned something some here might find interesting.

Be my guest. But I honestly wouldn't trust Gulag any more than CNN (but I probably repeat myself.)

Sorry I wasted my time. I don't care whether you believe it or not, or care or not. I thought it was interesting. If you don't, it's no skin off my you-know-what.

PS> And if I'd done a report on it myself, and posted a link - THAT you'd ban.

@Mark C, this is a YouTube channel that every single day manages to make a half-hour video about some very private event in the life of either Donald Trump or Elon Musk, in such incredible detail down to their very body language that you'd have to be with them in the room watching extremely carefully and taking detailed notes, then do that every single day. Either he's the most skillful and sneaky spy in the world with access to some of the people under the highest security protection in the world, and the fastest documentary video filmmaker in the world at the same time, or he's making up fiction for advertising money. Which is more likely?

I'm stressing this point simply because this is only going to get worse and worse over time. Already a good chunk of the content of the internet is either cheaply made human fakes, or completely AI-created fakes, and we must have the discernment to recognise this stuff when we see it. This video is obviously fake.

Learn to spot the fakes now, while they're easy to spot, because the quality is improving by the month and they're getting harder to distinguish. If you can't spot the fakes now, you'll never manage to in a year or two.

It was obviously AI generated, which was never the concern, but whether the story element was true. And the 'video' was nothing but a repeated still.

Just wait until the video looks real.
